Looks like crumpled stuffing paper... and I'm not really a fan of Adam in suits. He's not really um... slender enough to look good in a suit xD He should have worn his leather pants as usual!! Anyway, about the show itself.. I can't believe Jakob didn't win. Instead, they let someone named "Russell" win??? I mean seriously, I was pissed. The dancers I like never win! I didn't even watch this season. I only watched Jakob's performances after some Adam fan talked about him. And I watched the entire finale tonight just so I could see more of Jakob. I was so sure he'd win T_T

Seriously, these Diamond Parking people are like fucking delusional or something. First they give me a notice for exceeding the 3 hour time limit by 15 pathetic minutes, then they tell me they had issued another one on the 23rd? I never received any crap ass notice on the 23rd. I even checked by entering my license plate number on their website and got nothing!

As a fucking university, SFU should be able to accommodate all the students' parking needs. But no... they even have these signs that say parking is for mall customers only, not SFU students. Ok, so what if I didn't get a parking permit? There's basically no place for me to park. It's like saying not all students have the right to drive to school.

And ya, parking decals for spring 2010 semester are now $35 each. They only know how to keep raising the prices.

Um.. so this really weird thing just happened... I have this piece of onion on a plate in the fridge.. When I was talking on the phone just now, I opened the fridge for... I can't even remember what. But ya, I noticed the plate was empty! So... my onion.. disappeared... Ya, that's just... really weird...

Anyway, this Family Guy episode was awesome! So much better than Blue Harvest, IMO.

I've been watching too much TV lately. Both online and on TV. I just watch.. too much. But it was all worth it. Today, I actually caught Adam's FYE music video on Much Music! IT WAS NUMBER 1!! Adam beat Lady Gaga! Ahahahaha!! Still have not heard FYE on the Beat yet tho... or even WWFM :(

Wasted pretty much most of today working on this picture which I don't even think is going anywhere. Seriously, so many things depress me right now I don't even know what I'm gonna do. What makes the situation even worse is that my paper is due today. Then after that there's another paper. Then after that there's my German final. I haven't touched any German since the midterm. Somewhere in between is the 208 final portfolio due date. I'm not so concerned about 208.. I have to produce 20 drawings in a few days, ya ya, w/e. I just want this damn semester to be over so I can finally... I dunno.. move on with my life.. I have no clue what I'm gonna do about next semester. I'm gonna be missing a lot of classes. Hm.. I suppose I'll worry about that in Taiwan.

Ya, I feel like shit. Wish someone can write my paper... I'm willing to pay.. honestly...

Sigh... No matter how much I know I should be careful, it's just no use. Today I actually backed up into a pole -- even tho I knew I was probably gonna hit it! How screwed up is that? Why didn't I stop backing up when I knew I was gonna hit it?!!! I honestly haven't got a clue... I did slow down a bit.. ha... not that it helped much cuz the pole made a pretty obvious mark on the car anyway. *cries* And this was just 1 of the several stupid things I did to/with my car..

God I am in such a pissy mood this morning. I was supposed to attend a 5 hour workshop at 10, but my throat hurts and I think I'm sick. So I didn't go... now I wish I had just so I wouldn't have to be here to get bitched at by my mom just bcuz she's in a bad mood. Like I really hate it when ppl take their anger out on me even tho I didn't do anything to them.

I knew I shouldn't have met up w/ Jenny at metro on Thurs! She took so long shopping... and in the end we were stuck in traffic for forever trying to get back. O ya, did I mention this morning I was supposed to give Jenny a ride? Thanks to that, I had to wake up early just to let her know that I wasn't going anymore.. and then find out that she was unreachable prollie cuz she clubbed too hard last night and was still sleeping. *rolls eyes* I'll bet $100 that she didn't go to the workshop today either.

There are so many things that I have to do. Mais je suis malade!! Did I even say it right??? I'm no good at French. Hm.. considering that I'm taking German this semester, I should be saying that in German; Aber ich bin... what's sick in German? I have no idea...

Sigh.. time to get back to my sad (sick) life...

But I have a feeling it's gonna be awesome on the big screen and all.. And ya.. the song actually doesn't sound as epic as they're claiming it to be.. but Adam's voice sure is amazing.

I hate school... it's only the... 3rd day (2nd for me as I had no classes on the 1st day) of school and I'm already hating it very very very very very very much. First of all.. 1 of my courses has an exam on Dec. 14, which is like.. too late into December IMO. Plus I need to go to the bby campus to buy textbooks for it. And then there's 208.. it doesn't look too bad except for the fact that I need to buy a zillion useless supplies.. and who knows where I have to go to get them..

What troubles me most is my upper division elective.. T_T I was interested in 452.. until I walked into the class today and was called a "brave lady" by the prof for being the only girl in the class. God it was so stupid.. 313 was booooring. Who was it that told me it was easy? O ya.. ha.. it did sound easy enough.. just very boring at the same time. And no individual work.. even when the work requires nothing more than answering simple worksheet questions. Why in the fruiting hell would you need 3 ppl to do that? And omg, the custom courseware that we have to buy is ridiculous.. Srsly, the "book" looked like it had 20 pages. Is the school really so poor that.. they have to make us spend $10.50 on a pathetic little booklet which they could easily photocopy for us? *cries*

I honestly don't want to take any more courses. I wonder if this... laziness.. is what every university student feels when they reach their 4th year.. O poor me..

So my main issue here is.. I don't know which courses I should drop/take. Orz... I want my summer back ;_; Gonna be emo for the next few weeks now.

I just found out today that the Vancouver library has YAOI. That's right... Y-A-O-I. At first I was actually looking for a few novels which happened to have slash. I found them in the Vancouver library, Burnaby library, and even Surrey library. I was only semi surprised, since these novels were quite old and only had like mild gay themes.

What gave me a reeeally huge shock was when I discovered that the Vancouver library has actual GAY EROTICA (stuff like A Bit of Rough and Roughhousing by Laura Baumbach)! They have gay romance novels as well; I found recently released titles like False Colors by Alex Beecroft and Transgressions by Erastes. Well, I guess I shouldn't be that shocked that they have those titles cuz they're from like a mainstream publisher or w/e.. but I also found A Strong and Sudden Thaw (Iris Print version!!) and Wicked Gentlemen! Out of curiosity, I decided to search for yaoi. And as if all that wasn't shocking enough already, I found a handful of yaoi manga & novels, such as Golden Cain, Lies and Kisses, La Esperanca (like the fricking whole series), the J-Boys anthology, Author's Pet, Caged Slave yaoi novel and even Yaoi Press titles like Yaoi Hentai and Love Circles! I rememeber seeing a Touko Kawai manga too...

Anyway, like srsly, this is quite a shock to me... It hadn't been that long since the last time I wandered around bookstores and anime shops looking for yaoi manga only to find that they had none. As for gay novels, I had never really looked for gay erotica at libraries before.. bcuz I could hardly find them in bookstores. I did find Best Gay Erotica 2005 at the Burnaby library once. Things have.. really changed in the past.. 3 years.. I remember making a post on my lj the first time I found yaoi manga at Sakura Media. Haha.. Now yaoi manga's pretty easy to find in stores -- and apparently libraries as well! This is all too strange for me! I've always thought of slash/yaoi stuff as sth that I can only buy, not borrow. So I'm not so sure if.. I should still continue buying them or what now that I can just get them from the library... :S

Um.. ya, I think I should mention that I got back from YaoiFest and have pics & stuff which I will post as soon as I get the rest of the pics from M. I haven't decided where I'm gonna post them yet.. maybe here, maybe on y!gallery.. who knows.. lol.

O, another reason why I was so shocked at my discoveries today was because a girl I talked to at YaoiFest mentioned gay novels that she said could only be obtained through online shops cuz no libraries had them. I thot it was totally understandable that no libraries would have gay erotica. One of the novels she mentioned was A Bit of Rough.

I can't wait to go hunt for those books when I go downtown tmr :D The only downside is I'll have to get a Burnaby library card... ugh.

I just watched the coolest gunfight movie eva! The story wasn't really that great. A fascist society of emotionless citizens? Ya, I don't really get how that's supposed to work out. But that's besides the point. I love the gunfights in this movie! I love Christian Bale! For some reason, I didn't find him that attractive in The Dark Knight. Even during the beginning of Equilibrium, I didn't think he was all that attractive. Then after seeing his character, John Preston, in gunfights w/ all his gun kata moves, I became hopelessly obsessed w/ him. John Preston kinda looks like a boring priest. But he's actually the highest ranking Grammaton Cleric. Ooooh, how sexy.. xDD

I'm not familiar w/ like those gun fu stuff in Hong Kong action films, so.. maybe that's why I'm so impressed w/ Equilibrium? I dunno.. I just know that even tho gun kata is sooo obviously fictional and unrealistic, it's still so cool at the same time! I think w/o the gun kata and Christian Bale (and the black leather-ness of their uniforms.. xD O how I love their leather gloves.. ), the movie will pretty much suck.

Anyway, w/e the case, I am very obsessed w/ this movie. I just want to watch Preston's gunfights over and over again. Lol. Especially the one that happened in the Nethers when the enforcers found the puppy in Preston's trunk. They were all like, "down on your knees", "drop down", "comply" and whatnot. And then when Preston went all gun kata on them, the captain was like, "What? *looks all confused* Aw, shit! Shoot him! Shoot him!" Lol! As if a bunch of low ranking policemen can kill a first class Grammation Cleric :D Quite amusing, it was...

About the ending (SPOILER~), when Preston had DuPont at gunpoint and DuPont was trying to get out of it by giving Preston shit like, "I'm life", "I feel", I really think Preston's line before shooting him should have been sth like "I don't feel". Like srsly, that would've sounded so much cooler! You know, kinda like in your face, you and your emotion supressing crap. Lol =_=;;

It's officially past midnight but I don't feel like going to bed yet (even tho I'm really tired..). What can be more fun than writing about my random dreams from last night?? :DD Ya.. So anyway, I had these series of dreams last night... about some friends.. one of them hadn't been appearing in any of my dreams lately, so I was kinda surprised that she all of a sudden appeared again last night (ok, that just sounded creepy... o_O). Not only that, even when I was thinking to myself how weird it was that I was dreaming about her again, I couldn't stop! It's like one of those times when you wake up from one dream, and then go back to sleep, continuing on with that dream. That's why I'm calling this a series of dreams; they were all connected... even tho I wanted to dream about sth else. Sigh..

The one that I remembered most was the last one, I believe.. it might've been the second last one.. dunno. Anyway, in that particular segment, I was riding a bike.. K was there too. It was kinda weird because in real life, I haven't been on a bike for.. a very long time... and K's bike seat was supposed to have been stolen like months ago. So.. yes, not a scene that really made sense. I got angry at her for sth.. can't remember what... but I was like so pissed off that I gave her the finger and just left. Again, not sth likely to happen in real life.. I'd never do that unless I was really, really pissed off.. well, I guess maybe I just was in my dream. Lol.

After that, I went to the supermarket and saw/met up with M, Jenny, and some other ppl we knew. We were.. apparently shopping for food.. I was in a pretty bad mood bcuz of what happened w/ K earlier. When we started shopping for food, I got even more pissed off because M and those other ppl wouldn't tell me what they were buying. I have no idea why that would've upset me, but I remember I was feeling pretty depressed. I was thinking "Fine, I won't buy anything then. I bet I can find these things else where for cheaper. I'm gonna go home now."

Before I left the place, I ran into Jenny, who was looking at noodles.. I went up to her and.. maybe I asked her some stuff -- can't remember. She said to me, "I'm going to eat noodles at this place later." I think she actually addressed "this place" with a proper name.. either way, can't remember. I was like, "Oh". I wanted to go, but didn't really have money.. (Btw, it may seem weird for Jenny to be buying noodles since she doesn't eat noodles in real life, but unlike the bike thing, I actually know where this came from. Lol. Last Wednesday I was supposed to eat dim sum w/ Jenny & Monica, but bcuz I spent so much money on food already the previous night, I kinda flaked out on them. When I met up w/ them after lunch, they told me that they didn't eat dim sum; instead, they went to a noodle place.)

At that moment, M appeared from out of nowhere. Haha, I shouldn't say that.. she appeared from.. somewhere within the supermarket. I think she kinda sensed that sth was wrong.. cuz the next thing I remember, I was blabbing to her about how we could buy the food here from other stores at lower prices. She agreed and decided that she too, would buy the food from wherever I was going to buy them from. Somehow, that made me feel a little better. Lol.

So.. I watched 2 more movies.. actually, 3. The first one is Doomsday; it's another deadly virus movie, except in this movie, the infected people just die.. they don't uh.. become all psychotic and zombie-like. This also means that the movie doesn't have as much killing. Unfortunately, even w/o the gore, the movie is full of a ton of other stupid stuff. I like watching movies that are believable.. if not, they have to make sense. Doomsday starts out ok, but gets more and more whacked out as it goes on. I won't even comment on the "war" between the weird medieval soldiers and depraved psychopaths. It just doesn't make sense. All I will say is that Eden Sinclair is the coolest female character I have ever seen in any movie/book/whatever. To be honest, I was surprised that the main character this time happened to be female. I wasn't disappointed tho.. Eden Sinclair is pure awesomeness. She makes the otherwise silly movie worth watching.

The second movie I watched is The Proposal. Ya, I know.. doesn't really fit in w/ the type of movies I've been watching recently. But it was Jenny's birthday.. she wanted to watch it.. so yes, I paid $8 (or $9.. forgot..) to watch this stupid romance movie in the MOVIE THEATER. Out of habit, I kept half expecting zombies to pop out and create chaos. Lol. Needless to say, the movie was very anti-climatic.. complete waste of money... I finally understand how ppl can fall asleep in the movie theater during a movie. This is sth I'd much rather watch at home.. for free.. because it simply doesn't need a big screen and surround sound system. Ugh. Actually, there's more to Jenny's birthday that I want to complain about. But I'll save that for another post.

The last movie I watched is War of the Worlds. Why I all of a sudden decided to watch this.. I have no idea. I just know I wish I hadn't watched it; it is so bad that I don't even know where to begin. Honestly, it might even be worse than The Core. Nothing makes sense to me in this movie... Like for example, these... alien tripod thingys.. if they really had been buried underground since before the rise of humanity, how is it possible that no one ever detected/found any?!! Not only are they humongous, there are so many of them. So.. throughout our.. 5,000 years of civilization, we were able to dig out ancient ruins, fossils, etc. but no one...  NO ONE found any traces of these tripods even though they were like... right under our city? And then you have these force fields... like ok, so these aliens are supposed to be a lot smarter and more advanced than us. If they are smart enough to create these unbreakable force fields, shouldn't they also have.. perhaps a more efficient and powerful weapon (like more destructive than our nuclear weapons since ya know.. they're supposed to be more intelligent than us) that they can use to exterminate the human race in one go? Cuz like.. dude, they are operating these tripods manually and taking an awful long time killing people one by one. I just don't get it.

Another thing I hate about this movie is the characters. I was never a fan of Tom Cruise.. so I kinda just feel neutral towards the character he played. But his kids... omg his kids... an annoying daughter and an idiotic son who thinks he can save the world x_x His daughter, especially! She's SO annoying! Kids like her, I hate the most. I had hoped the aliens would kill her, but I knew in a dumb movie like this, the main character's family was destined to survive. But srsly, if I were Ray, I would've drop kicked her out of the car since the beginning. And what's up w/ his son? Why does he keep wanting to go to the aliens? Is he possessed or sth? I'll never know.. Anyway, the movie has so many flaws, so many annoying characters, and is so boring. I can understand how I found The Proposal anti-climatic, but this one? How can an adventure + thriller + sci-fi film be boring? T_T Alas, it is.. I wanted to go to sleep after 30 minutes into the movie.

I think I've talked enough about these stupid movies. Haha. Doomsday is the only one that I actually enjoyed, because Eden Sinclair kicks ass. Now.. Imma try do sth productive..

Today I watched 28 Days Later and its sequel, 28 Weeks Later. I read somewhere that they were based on the same book as I am Legend. No idea if it's true.. as I've never watched I am Legend.. just heard it was really bad and that 28 Days Later was better. Anyway, 28 Days Later is basically about an incurable virus that is highly contagious spreading throughout the UK. Those who are infected uh... become violent and can infect others through the blood and saliva.

So I started out with 28 Days Later. Normally, I tend to stay away from horror films.. But even tho this film was classified as "horror", I didn't find it that scary. It was more gore than horror, IMO. Lol. I actually watched it because Cillian Murphy was in it.. that and also the film was directed by the same director as Sunshine. I was a bit disappointed tho.. cuz the character Cillian Murphy played was... a bicycle courier... I kept thinking that it'd be sooo cool if he was a physicist in this film too. Aha. But no, this film was nowhere as good as Sunshine. It was just a lot of people killling people -- infected ppl killing uninfected ppl, uninfected ppl killing infected ppl, and uninfected ppl killing other uninfected ppl. Ya, it's quite screwed up. What I found most disturbing however, was not the killing, but how the soldiers tried to lure female survivors to their base so they could rape them. O ya, this movie also made me hate anime rights activists. The scientist tried to warn them, but they were too into their animal rights nonsense to listen. Like seriously, listen to the nerds.

When I got to watching 28 Weeks Later, the killing started to really get old. It's like.. there's simply nothing more to the movie other than the killing. You sit there, anticipating some infected ppl to show up. Eventually, they show up; killing starts; main characters survive; move on; then same stuff repeats.

The ending to 28 Weeks Later showed the virus spreading to mainland Europe. How that's possible, I have no idea, considering the symptoms supposedly show up within seconds after infection. But anyway, they seem to be making another sequel, titled 28 Months Later, to be released in 2011. I just hope.. it's not gonna be another 2 hours of killing.. =__=

In other news, I realized I have yet to post anything about my latest obsession -- Adam Lambert <3333 I'll do that another day.. ahaha..

Has anyone else watched this?? I just watched it and it was soooo fricking awesome (and creepy at the same time)!! <33 This movie apparently was never released in Canada, and had a waaaay lower budget than other sci-fi films. It was however, waaaaaaaay better than most sci-fi films I watched! I can't remember how many sci-fi films I watched... hmm.. the ones I remember are: The Day After Tomorrow (just watched it last week), The Deep Impact, Armageddon, The Core, Knowing, The Day The Earth Stood Still, etc. I thot Sunshine would be kinda similar to those movies, but 5 minutes into the movie, I knew I was wrong...

Unlike the other cliche sci-fi movies that focus a lot on the special effects or on the ppl on Earth, this one actually focuses on the members on the mission and the psychological aspect of the mission. In so many movies I watched, most of the characters are portrayed as being... selfless.. like they would jump at any opportunity to sacrifice their life for the mission or to save others. To me, that just seems so unrealistic.. I mean, when faced w/ death, how can one still be sane enough to continue the mission? To still have the motivation/will? I think this movie really questions our humanity when being put in difficult situations.. For example, do you kill one of your crew members so that there will be enough oxygen on the ship for the other members to complete the mission, or do you do nothing and have everyone die?

I also like how the movie only shows what's going on around Icarus (the ship), and doesn't show any scenes of Earth until the end; I felt like I was with them, and not on Earth xD I really got a sense of what it felt like to be completely cut off from civilization... and ya, that is creepy. Actually, the most creepy part was when Icarus said there were 5 crew members, not 4........ That was also when I realized this movie was turning more into a horror film than a sci-fi film... so I decided to go sleep and continue watching in the morning xDDD

Another thing.. Capa is hot. Yes he is. You didn't actually think I was gonna praise a movie w/o fangirling over some guy, right? Or should I say.. there's no way I could like a movie if I didn't like at least one of the characters in there. That's right. Capa is hoooot. Even his name sounds hot to me (tho I think that's his last name). Just look at him.. he's a physicist with a pretty face and baby blue eyes. How sexy is that?? Oh his purdy blue eyes... He's.. enigmatic and always looks so cool and composed.. even when he's panicking he looks cool. Lol. He's obviously really smart too xDD

Anyway, bottom line is, this movie rocks!! Altho somewhat creepy (creepy enough to force me to bed and watch it during daytime), it totally was a lot more exciting (in a twisted way.. ha..) & suspenseful than the other sci-fi movies I watched recently ~_~ Plus they have very cool technology on Icarus (but hideous space suits).

Okok, here's one of my favourite parts (the one that creeped me out):

Remember that popular Kelly Clarkson song, Miss Independent? I remember the first time I heard it, I felt like I had heard the tune of the chorus from somewhere else before. It sounded strangely familiar.. I couldn't quite place my finger on it..

Well, today it came to me. It just all of a sudden came to me, like.. out of the blue, a chain of lightbulbs lit up, one by one. Lol. The song which I thot had a similar chorus was the Beyblade song, Always be in the Game, from the English Beyblade V-Force soundtrack. No wonder I had a hard time placing my finger on it; I hadn't listened to any Beyblade songs for a very long time. (But today, I was able to figure it out all of a sudden.. So freaky :S)

Anyway, the chorus I'm talking about is the "What is this feeling taking over?" from Miss Independent and "Always be in the game and keep rolling" from Always be in the Game (xD).
